Relaxed, fun and inspiring lessons held online or in the comfort of your own home.
From a base in South West London, I cover English, History and Philosophy for Primary, GCSE, A Level and Adult learners – helping either yourself or your child develop confidence and key skills.
Lessons are delivered either in-person or online via skype.
“Amelia is lovely – very bright and capable, but really puts our daughter at ease. She immediately grasped where to focus for maximum gain and is already building our daughter`s confidence and enjoyment in the subject.”
“Amelia is a wonderful tutor. She is really enthusiastic about her subjects and makes lessons really fun. She also comes well prepared with original ideas to bring the subjects to life. Our daughter also adores her company.”
A Level Philosophy
“Amelia has a great manner, she is very patient and very clear in explaining complex philosophical theories. We are very happy with her and would definitely recommend her.”
I am an experienced professional tutor, with a First Class MA and M.Phil. from St Andrews and Bristol Universities respectively. I have enjoyed a career in communications and publishing for prestigious organisations such as Oxford University Press and the Society of Antiquaries of London.
I`m a friendly, calm and kind teacher who will personalise lessons to meet your individual requirements and interests – believing every learner is different. I am always open to new challenges, so please get in touch if you think I might be able to help. Take a look at my CV for further information.
What do I charge?
I charge £30-40 per lesson (depending on the student’s requirements), and can provide online learning (via skype) or travel up to 3 miles from my base in Chiswick. This means that I cover the areas of Chiswick, Mortlake, Sheen, Kew, Barnes and Richmond.
N.B. The support does not end with our face-to-face lessons! I provide all students with my personal contact details for any questions, resources, proofreading… etc.etc., and am here to help with just about anything learning-related throughout the week.
Please do get in touch to discuss any requirements – I’d love to hear from you.
